Recognitions Internationally after opening to the world

  1. Janakaraliya is a Cooperating Member of International Theatre Institute (ITI) affiliated to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO)

  2. Represented New Delhi International Drama festivals in the year 2008 performing the Sinhala language version of the play "Charandas".  In the same tour the Tamil version of the same play was performed at the Chndralekha centre of dancing in Chennai, University of Pondichery and two fisher villagers in Tamilnadu

  3.  Janakaraliya represented at the Conference of "Culture Asia : Connecting Asian Cultural Actors" 14th to 16th December 2008.

  4. Janakaraliya was selected as one of the 10 best cultural teams in the Asia Pacific region at the FREEDOM TO CREATE global competition in 2010.

  5. ‘Charandas’ drama was performed by Janakaraliya at ‘Puresei’ village of Tamil Nadu by the invitation of the committee for 05th Kannappa Thambirasan Therukkuththu Drama Festival in August 2012.

  6. Four members of Janakaraliya participated at the "Theatre of the oppressed" workshop conducted by Janasanskriti of Kolkata, West Bengal, India from 05th to 20th December, 2012.

  7. In June 2013 ‘Payanihal’ drama was performed at the drama festival conducted by ‘Sakhna Experimental Theatre Group of Kirgizstan sponsored by ‘HIVOS’ of the Netherlands.

  8. Janakaraliya received the membership of the international ‘Theatre of the Oppressed’ network in 2013.

  9.  In March 2014 Janakaraliya Mobile Theatre was shipped to the city of Thrisur, in Kerala, India and established as one of the performing spaces of the drama festival where ‘Hunuwataya’ drama was performed by Janakaraliya drama group.

  10. Janakaraliya was invited to represent the workshop on ‘Educating Public on Weather Changes and Natural Disasters’ organized by International Drama and Theatre organization of Asia pacific’ in Manila, Philippines in 2014.

  11. Janakaraliya participated at the 34th World ITI Congress at Yerevan, Armenia from 17th to 22nd November, 2014.

  12.  Janakaraliya represented at the Fujairah International Monodrama Festival of United Arab Emirates from 19th February to 28th March in 2015

  13. ‘Payanihal’ drama was performed at the ‘15th Kalindi Bratyojan’ drama festival in Kolkata, India in July, 2015.

  14.   Performed ‘Payanihal’ and “Porisadaya’ dramas at the ‘15th Ritswick International Drama Festival’ in the City of Berhampoor, East Bengal November 2015. 

  15.  Janakaraliya participated at the 2016 South Asia Sub-Regional Meeting of NGOs on "Safeguarding Intagible Cultural Heritage for Sustainable Development" at Goa, India in August, 2016.  

  16.   "Payanihal" was performed at the International Theatre Festival "Under the Sal Tree" organized by the Badungduppa Socio-Cultural Society in Rampur, Golpara district of Assam, India in December, 2016.

  17.  Janakaraliya play "Sekkuwa" (The Oil Press) was performed at the "Bahuroopi International Theatre Festival 2017" of Mysore, Karnataka, India organized by the Rangayana Campus of Theatre in January 2017.  The Artistic Director of Janakaraliya, Parakrama Niriella participated as the Chief Guest of this festival.
